Entry £12 affiliated / £14 non affiliated until postal closing 17 August. Extra £2 on the day entries. Entry limit 400. 120 and 132 finished respectively in 2012 and 2013 races.
Fourth Annual Mel Batty 10k hosted by Thurrock Harriers. Mel Batty broke the world record for 10 miles in 1964 in a time of 47 minutes 26.8 seconds. Mel died in September 2011 and we honour his memory by revivng the Mel Batty 10 mile in a 10k format on some of the old route starting and finishing at Blackshots track. We are delighted that Brooks Sports Shoes with whom Mel was associated for years is the race sponsor and provifing all of the prizes.
