The latest tables for the 2018 Essex Road Running Championships / Grand Prix can be found here.
The ladies and mens tables have been updated after the marathon championships at Halstead.
The ladies team competition already looks a two horse race between current holders Witham RC and perennial winners Springfield Striders, with both clubs sharing the honours after the first 2 races. In the mens competition Springfield have established an early lead over Grange Farm & Dunmow Runners.
As a reminder, with the cancellation of the Essex 20, this year’s GP series is the best 4 of 5 races. The next race is the Halstead marathon , then the Pleshey half marathon, Tiptree 10m and Wix 5m.
Affiliated runners need to run 4 of the 5 races (and correctly enter as Essex eligible) to earn the new road race grand prix finishers medal. With this new medal in mind the tables have an extra category showing those “non vet” runners that were outside the top 25 thereby tracking their eligibility for the finishers medal. All vet runners participation is tracked in their respective age group table.
After 2 races there are now just 131 ladies and 207 men that can still earn the new medal (having run at least one of the two races to date).
If anyone believes that there are any mistakes in the tables then please contact us immediately. Corrections cannot, and will not, be made at the end of the year when medals are awarded.
