We are pleased to announce that the date for our ninth Dawn To Dusk Sunlight Ultra 2021 friendly race has been set as Sunday 12 December 2021. We promised not to raise the entry fee for three years, this will be the fifth year where the fees remain unchanged.
The race will be under the relevant COVID restrictions applicable at the time including your honesty in declaring that you are not affected at the time of applying - if you do have to pull out for any reason, we will offer you a deferred place at our next D2D or similar event such as the Fauja Singh Birthday Challenge or the proposed Ultra Summer Samosa Challenge.
We hope to welcome back as many of our loyal regulars as possible, while also encouraging first timers to give us a try. To clear all previous deferrals the number of entries are limited to 225 for the D2D races and 90 for the 10km. Entries close on Monday 15 November 2021.
Those of you who have taken part in this (D2D) event will already know but for the first timers here is a summary: The route is an undulating but wheelchair friendly and mostly on good tarmac surface.
There is also an opportunity for those starting out to run a 10 Km race starting at 11am.
Rewards include a unique medal, event T-shirt, goody bag and COVID permitting a chance to meet and have a selfie with the world's oldest marathon runner - Fauja Singh BEM.
There is a bag drop, loos and a feeding station at the Start/Finish of each lap serving usual drinks, chocs, fruit, tea/coffee and samosa/onion bhaji! A separate table for personal drinks too.
Age limits: 18 for 22km+ distance and 11 years if accompanied for 10km.
