"When it's all over, it's not who you were. It's whether you made a difference.”
Karl Cadman & The Running Community invites you to remember Kirste Bowman (nee Snellgrove)
Kirste was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and underwent six bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She passed away on February 9th 2012, at the age of just 42 after raising more than £50,000 for breast cancer charities by running 23 marathons while fighting the disease.
She joined Benfleet Running Club in 2001 and throughout her treatment she never stopped going to the club, and would train most days.
Her smiling face will be forever missed.
The Kirste 5 Memorial Race and hope it will become a legacy to her work and her dedication and inspiration.
All profits from this race will be donated equally between Macmillan Cancer Support, and Southend Hospital Breast Cancer Unit.
The Kirste 5 Memorial 2022 Race is the 11th Annual event. 238, 329, 316, 269 and 329 ran in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively.
