Running Events in Essex

Thanks to the overwhelming success of our Dawn To Dusk races over the last 10 years, We are pleased to announce the date for our new Summer equivalent of the popular Dawn To Dusk (D2D) Sunlight Ultra. This friendly race has been set as Sunday 30 June 2024. We are naming it the Sikhs In The City (SITC) Summer Samosa Ultra

Those of you who have taken part in the (D2D) event will already know but for the first timers here is a summary:

• The route is an undulating but wheelchair friendly and mostly on good tarmac surface
• Races start at 10:00 am
• When you complete 11 laps of a certified 2.014 Km course you will receive a 22km medal
• Complete 21 laps to receive a Marathon medal
• Complete at least 25 laps and you will have earned an Ultra medal
• You can run until 6:00pm
• Chip timed so you can see how you did each lap later as well as on the big electronic board as you pass the Start/Finish
• Rewards include a unique/bespoke race medal, event T-shirt, goody bag

There is also an opportunity for those starting out to run a 10 Km race starting at 1:00pm.

There is a bag, loos and a feeding station at the Start/Finish of each lap serving usual drinks, chocs, fruit, tea/coffee and samosa/onion bhaji! A separate table for personal drinks too.
