NEW EVENT for 2018.

The Braintree Track Marathon - 4th March 2018  (Rescheduled to 27 May) - 9:30am

Full Marathon distance (105 1/2 times round standard 400m running track)

Entry £30 - Entry Limit to 80 places.

Race Rules:

The event is a full marathon distance event, however completion of the event will be 105 1/2 laps of our running track starting at the 200m line. We have limited the entries to 80 people to avoid overcrowding. Remember, you will be running at different paces so if you need to overtake, try to avoid doing so on out side lanes on the bends as you will end up running a further distance! Overtaking is not allowed on the grass inside the track.

 Results and Prizes:

Trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd place male and females. Each runner will receive a finsher medal and a bespoke technical t-shirt. Please specify desired size on entry form.

Notes:

We will be using chip timing to record times and laps throughout the event. This will therefore mean mats will be placed on the track so runners are reminded to take care when passing over the mats, especially after the tiredness sets in! We will attempt to inform all runners when they are approaching their final lap. We know that many runners will be wearing a Garmin or similar watch to track pace/miles/laps etc but we would like to remind you again that completion of the race is 105 1/2 laps. Remember that if you run on a lane other than the inside lane, you will run further than 26.2 miles!
